Samsung Stratosphere Release Imminent, New Renders Leaked

The Samsung Stratosphere is real and should be coming to Verizon very soon. Today Verizon Wireless released the new budget LTE phone, the Pantech Breakout. While viewing some images of the new device on the wirefly.com page, I noticed something strange. Some of the shots of the phone showed Samsung branding. As you can see from the picture above, this phone is clearly not the Pantech Breakout. It is an as now unreleased Samsung LTE phone with Verizon branding. As of now Verizon carries one 4G LTE phone from Verizon, namely the Droid Charge. This is clearly not that device.

These images match up closely to previously lower quality leaked renders of the rumored Samsung device. It is rumored that the Stratosphere will feature a slide out qwerty keyboard, and internals closely matching the Droid Charge. From a software standpoint, the status bar at the tops shows a blue battery icon, which also matched the Droid Charge, so this phone will likely ship with Gingerbread.

Given that these images are available to retailers like Wirefly indicate that the product should be launching very soon. A leaked Radioshack launch timeline indicates an October 6th release.
